Accreditation

Arthritis Society Canada is committed to transparency, accountability and good governance.

Imagine Canada Standards Program

Imagine CanadaArthritis Society Canada is one of only a handful of health charities to be accredited under Imagine Canada’s Standards Program. In total, of the 85,000 charities in Canada, only 200 have been accredited to date.

In order to achieve the accreditation Arthritis Society Canada met the 73 standards regarding policy and operation that are designed to elevate public confidence in the charitable and non-profit sector.

Applications to the Standards Program are peer reviewed by a panel of independent, non-profit leaders from across Canada. The standards confirm compliance in five key areas of operation and policy: board governance; financial accountability & transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement. Stakeholders can feel confident that they are partnering with an organization that is professional, transparent and a careful steward of donor dollars.
