Arthritis is Canada’s most pervasive chronic health condition, for which there is no cure. This disease strikes people of every age, from infants to adults, from every walk of life.

More than 6 million Canadians live with the devastating effects of arthritis everyday including pain, lack of mobility, fatigue, and poor mental health.

By 2035, 40% more people will have arthritis than today – that’s 8.5 million Canadians.

More investment is needed for research aimed at finding innovative solutions for people living with arthritis, and ultimately, discover a cure.

Donate to the Research Stars fund and your donation will have double the impact

Aimed at early career researchers and research trainees, the newly established Research Stars Fund encourages these bright minds to choose a research career path focused on arthritis, helping to accelerate the rate at which individuals with arthritis benefit from new discoveries.

Your donation will help build a strong pipeline of researchers in the field of arthritis, and help foster innovation in arthritis research.

Thanks to the partnership between the Arthritis Society and the excellent research institutes where these rising stars work, your donation will have double the impact – every dollar you donate will be matched!

Your support can change the future

The Arthritis Society is proud to be Canada’s largest charitable funder of arthritis research. Since our founding in 1948, we have funded over $200 million in research projects that have led to breakthroughs in the diagnosis, treatment and care of people affected by arthritis.

The Arthritis Society’s research program is grounded on our goal of finding the causes and cures of arthritis, and to promote the best possible treatments and care for those living with the painful and life-altering effects of arthritis.

Your donation could provide the funding a young researcher needs to lead to a discovery that may just change the future of arthritis.
